Paterson Man Wounded in 5th Ward Shooting Tuesday

PATERSON, NJ - A 21-year-old city man was in stable condition on Wednesday, a day after being wounded in a shooting near the corner of Carroll Street and Park Avenue.

The incident happened at around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, when the victim told police he was walking in the area of Park and Carroll streets when he first heard the sound of multiple gunshots, and then realized he was wounded in the upper part of his right arm.

According to Lt. Patrick Murray, the victim fled by foot toward a relative's residence and then was taken by a family member to Hackensack University Medical Center.
