PATERSON, NJ - Early Tuesday morning, Paterson police arrested Quashon L. Faircloth, 27, of E. 26th St. in Paterson for the murder of 18-year-old Isaac Rinas last week.
On Wednesday night, June 26, Rinas and his companion, Casey Cole, both came to Paterson from Wayne after Rinas' high school graduation. According to Paterson police, Rinas was in Paterson for the purpose of buying a handgun. Cole and Bishma Cowan, 24, of Hamilton Avenue in Paterson, had prior conversations of arranging for Isaac Rinas to be robbed when he came into Patersonr.
According to the statement on the Paterson Police Cease Fire Unit's Facebook page, "Quashon L. Faircloth became involved in the robbery plan. Mr. Rinas, Mr. Cole, Mr. Cowan and Mr. Faircloth met in the area of 325 Hamilton Ave. Mr. Rinas and Mr. Cole were directed to wait on Fair St., by the corner of E. 18th St. While parked, Mr. Faircloth entered the car that Mr. Rinas was operating and a robbery occurred. Mr. Faircloth ordered Mr. Cole out of the vehicle. Mr. Cole exited the vehicle as ordered by Mr. Faircloth and a few moments later Mr. Faircloth exited the vehicle. Mr. Rinas exited the vehicle shortly after Mr. Faircloth and was shot one time once outside the car. Mr. Rinas was struck on the neck and died from his injuries."
Rinas' reason for buying a handgun have not been determined.
Faircloth was arrested at approximately 1:15 a.m. Tuesday and was charged with murder, felony murder, robbery and weapons charges in connection with the death of Rinas.
