PATERSON, NJ - Police have arrested Zikeme Brooks, 21, of E. 28th Street in connection with the robbery and shooting of a 24-year-old Waretown man in March.
At approximately 8 p.m. on March 18, the victim was walking in the area of 21st Avenue and E. 27th Street when he was approached by a male who produced a handgun and announced a robbery.
The victim attempted to flee on foot when the male suspect fired at the victim, striking him in the buttocks. The victim has since recovered from his injuries.
As a result of an investigation conducted by Ceasefire Detectives Edgar Taylor and Rolando Polio, Zikeme Brooks was identified as the alleged suspect in the incident. Brooks is being held in the Passaic County Jail, where he was already being detained for an unrelated incident. Brooks is awaiting an initial court appearance and setting of bail.
