Paterson Resident Jioni Rosado Arrested for Attempted Murder

PATERSON, NJ - Jioni Rosado, a 24-year-old city resident, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in the Dec. 28, 2013 shooting of a 21-year-old city resident.

As a result of an investigation conducted by detectives Francisco Brito and Dave Tanis, Rosado was identified as the alleged shooter in the case. Rosado was arrested Saturday evening by officers David Findlay and Michael Quinones after they recognized Rosado from an issued bulletin.

Rosado was taken into custody and processed at Paterson Police Headquarters. He is currently being held at the Passaic County Jail. Bail has been set at $1 million.

At approximately 5 a.m. on Dec. 28, 2013, Paterson Police patrol units were dispatched to 962 Main St. on a report of a shooting. On arrival, officers were advised that the victim had just arrived at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center by private vehicle. The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso after leaving the Al Safa Restaurant on Main Street. He had entered his vehicle when he was approached by a suspect who opened fire into the vehicle.

The victim then attempted to drive himself to the hospital, but pulled over on his way to the hospital, and was driven the short distance by a friend.
