Paterson Schools Closed, Report Cards Delayed

February 13, 2014 at 9:53 AM

PATERSON, NJ - All city schools and district offices are closed on Thursday due to the snowstorm.

In addition, the distribution of report cards for grades nine through 12, which was scheduled to take place today, will have to be delayed.

The Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Passaic County until 6 a.m., putting Friday's school day in jeopardy, as well. A delayed opening for Friday would normally be an option, however Friday has been scheduled as a staff professional development day in which students would--under normal circumstances--be dismissed at 1 p.m. It is doubtful the district would open schools late on Friday morning only to dismiss students by early afternoon.

Snow accumulations of about a foot are expected before the storm dies out early Friday morning, and a State of Emergency is in effect for New Jersey.
