September 25, 2011 at 9:12 AM

PATERSON, NJ - The "2 Communities/2 Cultures" exhibit, which highlights students' art work from New Orleans and Paterson, is now on display at the Paterson Museum. This "living project" began as a  part of the  "RainbowSeekers" project created by Christine Conforti for the Global Youth Service Day in 2008.

The project includes art work from children who participated in the Global Youth Service Day program at the Paterson Museum in 2008,  students from Alexander Hamilton Academy After School Program, School 15 and children who participate in art events at the Ivanhoe Wheelhouse.

In 2009 Art Educator Kathy Benevento became involved and connected the project with the Ben Franklin Elementary School and the Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans. Displayed at the Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans last October 2010 as part of "Art for Art's Sake" Annual Fall Art Festival, "2 Communities, 2 Cultures" has arrived at the Paterson Museum. This venture will be on display for the rest of September thru October.
