Patients Benefit from Access to Online Records at HackensackUMC Mountainside Hospital

MONTCLAIR, NJ - All patients treated at HackensackUMC Mountainside on an inpatient basis now have convenient, secure access to comprehensive information about their hospital care. This free service, provided via YourCareCommunity, is available to all adults who share an e-mail address upon admission.

Following enrollment, which takes just a few minutes, users receive unlimited, on-demand access to a summary of care from the hospital stay presented in clear, understandable terms, including: results of lab and radiology tests including blood work, EKGs, x-rays and CT scans; a medications list; vital signs and other useful information. Participating patients can refer to their records at any time and forward or print them out for other healthcare providers to improve the overall quality of their care.

“In today’s complex, multifaceted healthcare environment it’s important to communicate clearly with our patients and facilitate coordination with other providers. This HIPAA compliant program provides those benefits without sacrificing patient privacy and confidentiality since all information is held in a secure portal that affords exclusive password protected access to those who’ve established accounts,” said John Fromhold, Chief Executive Officer.
