BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Residents of Bloomfield staged a peaceful two-hour silent march and protest on Sunday afternoon in honor of George Floyd to raise awareness about the alleged mistreatment of citizens nationwide by rouge law enforcement members.

Some marchers gathered near Watsessing Park, and made their way down Broad Street, past the historic Town Green,  to congregate across of Bloomfield High School.

A group of about 75 protesters of all races and ages held up signs as those driving by on Broad Street honked their horns in support of a peaceful protest.

Bloomfield police officers were nearby on Broad Street on foot and in their vehicles to monitor the silent march, which concluded without incident around 4 pm.
