EDISON, NJ – Tails were wagging Saturday morning, as it was the grand opening for PetSmart in Edison at 2224 Route 27.
The store started to fill quickly early morning with pet lovers and the dogs were all smiling as they walked around the store making new canine friends and getting new treats and toys.
Several hundred pet lovers poured into the store and many entered into drawings for giveaways. The staff was giving away free t-shirts and bandanas.
The district manager Clinton Gorga, store manager Andrew Reid and the very enthusiastic PetSmart staff were eager to assist the customers.
“We are very excited to open up the Edison store and build the relationship with local community. We met and built the relationship with Edison shelter as well,” said Clinton Gorga the district manager while welcoming the pet lovers. “We are very excited to work with our community partners and build the relationship with community leaders in NJ.”
“We are very excited to be here today and one of our main priority is to be very active in the community. We are so much more than just a pet store,” said Andrew the store manager. “We really appreciate the partnership with Edison municipal animal shelter. Working with the local community we surely will make a great impact on animals.” The manager hopes the store will help reduce euthanasia numbers.
The store will bring 25 new jobs to Edison and will help save the lives of homeless pets through adoption.
