MONTVILLE, NJ - After exiting the locker room at halftime with the score tied, the Montville girls basketball team saw its hopes for a win slip away after a tough third quarter in a 40-22 loss to Morristown on Tuesday night at Montville Township High School.
The score was knotted up at 13 at halftime, but Morristown out-scored Montville 18-6 in the third quarter, before it closed out the game with a 9-3 fourth quarter.
Dani Campbell led the way for Montville with eight points as well as five steals. Reese Henderson chipped in with seven points, while Emma Wax added two points, five rebounds and five steals in the loss.
Kolby Lynch scored a game-high 19 points for Morristown. Tara O'Neill added 14 points, which included four 3-pointers.
The loss dropped Montville to 5-7 on the season. It will host Ridge on Thursday night for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
