Pioneer Girls Face Busy Basketball Week
NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The New Providence High School girls basketball team will take a 3-2 record into a very busy week on the road beginning with a game in Clark against Arthur L. Johnson High School on Tuesday night.
The Pioneers, coming off a 35-30 victory over Union Catholic on Saturday, have been led by a couple of talented underclassmen: Sophomore Sydney Morang, who is averaging 19.4 points and 10 rebounds per game; and freshman Katie Kinum, who is averaging 12 points and 5.0 rebounds a game.
New Providence, after losing to Neptune on opening night, has held opponents to 41 points per game in winning three out of its last four games.
After playing Johnson at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, the Pioneers face Dayton Thursday night at 7 p.m. in Springfield and Gov. Livingston Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in Berkeley Heights.
