Pioneers Baseball Dropped by Dayton, 9-4

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The Pioneers' baseball team was defeated by Jonathan Dayton, 9-4, on Tuesday at Miller Field.

The Bulldogs scored four runs in the third and fourth innings, jumping out to an 8-2 lead. The Pioneers added two in the bottom of the seventh, but came up short in the end.

Bryan Sherman and Matt McCann allowed a combined eight runs over 4.2 innings.

Sherman, along with Matt Timpone, Alan Payne and Jeff Doran, recored two hits a piece.

New Providence is back in action on Thursday when they visit Oratory Prep.
