PLAINFIELD, NJ - A 31-year-old city resident was found shot to death Friday morning at his home in the 500 block of West Seventh Street.
The Union County Homicide Task Force and the Plainfield Police Division are investigating the shooting, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park reported.
Officers responding to a report of a possibly injured person discovered the male victim inside a residence on the 500 block of West Seventh Street shortly before 6 a.m. Friday. The victim, a resident of the building later identified as Daniel Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the homicide is ongoing, as detectives continue to examine evidence and canvass the area. As of midday Friday no arrests had been made and no motive had been established.
