UNION, NJ – At Wednesday night’s Board of Adjustment meeting, Board members unanimously approved plans for the development of the current Clinton Manor Hotel property at 2735 Route 22 West.

“Today, I am proud to announce that the Marriott project on Route 22 has been approved and will continue to move forward,” said Mayor Michele Delisfort on Thursday.

In her January 1 reorganization speech, Delisfort said the Township will continue to be aggressive in filling long-term vacancies and eyesores like the Clinton Manor. “We will no longer tolerate establishments who are clearly not invested in growing with this Township or addressing the needs and concerns of its residents."

Plans for the new Marriott include 154 rooms, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and conference room space.  There will be two separate banquet room facilities with a 480-person capacity.  On site surface and garage parking will be available to accommodate over 600 vehicles.

“I truly look forward to the completion of this initiative,” added Delisfort.  “It’s been an eyesore in our community for decades.  Today, it’s an investment that will enhance the Township of Union as well as manifest additional economic growth along one of our commercial corridors.”
