WESTFIELD, NJ — Playgrounds blocked off with caution tape have been a common scene during the pandemic, something that will no longer be the case.
Playgrounds across Westfield reopen Thursday, following their prolonged closure during COVID-19, Mayor Shelley Brindle said in a statement.
“As with any outdoor activity, we ask that you maintain proper distance and wear a face covering (except for children under two) to protect each other,” Brindle said.
The reopening comes with Westfield reporting no new coronavirus cases since June 17, she said. The total number of coronavirus cases in Westfield remained at 282 as of Tuesday night, Brindle said.
