EAST HANOVER, NJ - The Chief of Police of East Hanover, Christopher Cannizzo has issued the following notice to residents:


East Hanover has experienced significant damage from the storm including many wires and trees down and, damage electrical transformers. We are asking for your cooperation to stay home at this evening to give work crews a chance to clear roads and wires. Due to the unsafe conditions now, we will activate a cooling and charging station tomorrow morning at the East Hanover Recreation Center at Lurker Park, off at Eagle rock Avenue. The center will be open at 8:30 AM tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5th. It will be limited to 25 people at a time due to COVID-19 rules set by the state of New Jersey. Please remember, if you’re using a generator make sure it is outside in an open area.
