Police Blotter - Early Morning Car Vandalism

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Below is an edited version of the North Plainfield Police Report issued on April 10, 2014.  It is our policy at The Alternative Press of North Plainfield and Green Brook to redact names and addresses of people who have been arrested but not convicted.  While we see value in releasing information regarding safety and police activity in our communities, we do not want to report names and addresses until a conviction is obtained.

WHEN: April 10, 2014 12:25 a.m.
WHERE: Pearl Street
CHARGE: Criminal Mischief
DETAILS: [Resident] related that she was awoken to hearing the car alarm to her friend’s vehicle going off.  When she checked on vehicle, she observed two males running from the area.  [Resident] then observed a wine bottle that was smashed on the vehicle which may have caused the damage made to the windshield. No description of actors or motive for damage could be provided.
