CORAL SPRINGS, FL – When police arrested a 46-year-old man for his involvement in a three-car crash in Coral Springs and then driving off recklessly, they discovered he had a long history of driving violations, a police report said.

In all, Charles Britz had 13 driving while license suspended charges, and he was driving with a revoked driver’s license since 2010, the report said.

Britz, who lives in Hobe Sound, was charged with reckless driving, driving with a revoked license, failure to register tag, no proof of insurance, and another violation following the accident on Sunday at West Sample Road and Woodside Drive.

According to the report, police caught up to Britz after his truck allegedly hit another car which caused that car to strike a third car at the intersection. Witnesses described his truck to officers as he drove off, and police tracked him down in Margate as he was fleeing.

After Britz got out of his truck, police said he was stumbling and his eyes were bloodshot and watery, the report said. Officers suspected he was intoxicated.

Britz was later taken to Broward County Jail.
