CORAL SPRINGS, FL – For many, getting a sub from LaSpada's Original Hoagies in Coral Springs is part of their NFL football Sundays experience.

But this Sunday the tradition was broken when the popular restaurant chain was closed temporarily, prompting patrons to wonder what happened.

“Growing up here, I have always enjoyed a good LaSpada's sub,” said Drew Greep, of Parkland, who was planning to pick up five subs for his family to watch football on TV. “So I was in shock to find out it was closed temporarily."

A recording on the restaurant’s phone said LaSpada's at 10178 West Sample Road was temporarily closed, but promised it would re-open soon.

“We will be back up as soon as possible,” the recording said.

The recording encouraged patrons to go to the chain’s other locations in South Florida.

No one from LaSpada's could be reached for comment on Sunday and it couldn’t be determined what caused the restaurant to close temporarily.
