If you enjoy well-designed spaces and want to acquire the basic knowledge to beautify your own home or to help others, consider the interior design classes offered through the Continuing Education department at Union County College. Not everyone has the creativity or knowledge to design spaces and there is a need for professionals to help create functional yet beautiful interiors. These non-credit classes are taught by a professional interior designer, Keith Johns, who will help you develop the skills to foray into this creative and rewarding field.
Introduction to Interior Design and Planning is a 32 hour class which will teach design principles, how to develop creative concepts to final product, and how to communicate through drawings such as floor plans. This course meets on Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. from January 24 to May 16 and tuition is $299.
In the class, Materials, Fabric, Wallcovering, Flooring, Window Treatment and Accessories, you will learn all about the applications of different elements in interior spaces. This class meets Thursdays from 8:10 to 10:10 p.m. from January 24 to May 16. The tuition for each of these courses is $199.
Students who pass all interior design classes offered pass will receive a certificate in Interior Design and the details are on pages 32 – 33 of the spring Continuing Education brochure.
