On Thursday, Sept. 24, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Presbyterian Church in Westfield will host an online conversation on the topic of race relations.

Rev. Brooks Smith, a pastor with the Bound Brook Presbyterian Church, will lead the discussion and share his experiences as a college student, who in 1964 volunteered with the Mississippi Freedom Summer, a project then aimed at increasing registrations of Black voters.

Brooks will share his experiences in working in the Delta during Freedom Summer with brave, heroic and inspiring African American leaders and share his insights on how the current climate mirrors his experience in 1964.

To register and get the Zoom link, email Lisa Black at imb.blacklaw@gmail.com. For more information, call the Presbyterian Church in Westfield, 908-233-0301.
