FANWOOD, NJ - On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Fanwood Police Department will be participating in Operation Take Back. This is a statewide event for all New Jersey residents to have the opportunity to properly dispose of unused prescriptions.
The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
This statewide effort, with the majority of New Jersey police departments participating, is being spearheaded by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) New Jersey Division, the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, the NY/NJ HIDTA, and the New Jersey National Guard.
“This initiative, open to all residents, was organized to encourage local community residents to properly dispose of their unused, unwanted and expired medicine. We thank you in advance for your participation in this program,” said Fanwood Police Chief Richard Trigo.
The Fanwood Police Department is located at 75 North Martine Ave.
