HOPEWELL, NJ – The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office wants the driver involved in the Sunday morning’s crash with Clark’s Michael Sot to remain in custody. David Lamar, 22, was arrested after investigators found that he was driving while impaired.
The head-on collision resulted in serious injuries to Sot and others, including five students from The College of New Jersey. Sot, 20, died from his injuries two days later.
The prosecutor’s office filed a motion to detain Lamar at the Mercer County Correction Center in Hopewell, according to a press release Wednesday afternoon. A date and time for the detention hearing has not yet been set.
Lamar was charged with seven counts of assault by auto second degree after the accident. One count of vehicular homicide was added to the charges after Sot’s death.
