ROSELAND, NJ - Saturday night around 8 p.m., Roseland residents became aware of a strong smell of gas throughout the borough. Public Service Electric and Gas was alerted and over the course of a few hours both PSEG and the Roseland Fire Department went around the town attempting to locate the source of the odor.

By about 10:30 p.m., PSEG was able to find locate the broken gas line on Eagle Rock Avenue.
"PSEG has found the leak," commented Roseland Police Chief Rich McDonough. "It's located on Eagle Rock Avenue, about 50 feet east of Tannery Lane - underneath the bridge over Fullerton Brook. They'll be working on it now and fixing it by tonight."
