PATERSON, NJ-With two public transition forums in the books a common theme for the incoming administration is emerging: As mayor Andre Sayegh will not be able to solve all of Paterson’s issue alone.

The first forum was held Tuesday at School 25 with a second one held on Wednesday at Eastside High School. A third and final forum will be held Thursday at JFK High School beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Michael Powell, a member of the Transition Team who moderated the forum on Wednesday said repeatedly that “no mayor can do everything on his own,” each time urging the residents in attendance to be a part of helping to achieve the “One Paterson” vision espoused by Sayegh not on the campaign trail and since.

“No one is facing their concerns alone,” 5th Ward Councilman Luis Velez said before listing off crime, streets in disrepair, and other “quality of life issues” as those he plans on helping Sayegh tackle.

“Since we face them together we must tackle them together, that means the mayor, the council, and our residents,” he continued. “I am committed to doing my part.”
