SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ - The Scotch Plains-Fanwood varsity boys basketball team won its third game in a row and took the championship in the Keith Benovengo Christmas Tournament Monday night in its home gym.

The Raiders took the crown with a 60-58 victory over Woodbridge. Leo Ramos scored 20 points and Quaryee Bull collected 11 points and 10 rebounds for SPF (4-1). The Raiders built an 18-point lead by the third quarter, then had to hold on and withstand a furious Barron comeback.

Jack Poillon scored nine points and Andrew Voysest connected for seven points in the victory. Poillon had scored 30 points when the Raiders knocked off Franklin, 66-54, in the opening round of the tournament last weekend. Ramos had 14 points and seven assists in that victory.
