Raiders Results from Mon, July 28: Three Wins, One Loss

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ – Three of the four Scotch Plains Fanwood Baseball League teams that hosted playoff games won at home on Monday, July 28.

In the 7U Quarterfinal Game, No. 1 seed SPF White defeated eighth-seeded Long Hill at Route 22 Field. The Raiders will take on Summit in the semis on Tuesday.

In the 12U Semifinal Game, No. 2 seed Scotch Plains defeated third-seeded Springfield, 12-7, at Memorial Field. (See separate article here:

The 12U Raiders advance to the championship game vs. Basking Ridge Black at Memorial Field on Wednesday.

At the 13U Semifinal Game at VoTech, top-seeded Scotch Plains beat eighth-seeded Branchburg White to advance to the championship game against No. 3 Cranford Gold later in the week.

In the 10U Championship Game, seventh-seeded Kenilworth defeated fifth-seeded Scotch Plains by a score of 8-2 at Booth Field. After the game, the coaching staff led by 2014 SPFHS graduate Christian Zazzali announced the following honors for the 10U team: Offensive MVP, Marco Signorelli; Defensive MVP, Tommy Schmidt; Most Valuable Pitcher, Andy Kipp; and Most Improved Player, Brendan Fay.
