RANDOLPH, NJ- The Rams season opening victory came in the most uncommon fashion, a 1-0 win in which their opponent threw a no hitter. Their next two games also resulted in victory, but in a more traditional fashion.
On Wed. April 3, Randolph picked up their second win defeating Delbarton 6-4. David Sacco paced the Rams, going 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBI’s, while pitching a no hitter into the sixth inning. Matt Vicaro was also a force on offense going 3 for 3 at the plate, and Andrew Hafner went 3 for 4 with two RBI’s. Peter Huber closed out the game to pick up the save.
On Monday April 7, the Rams faced off against Chatham in a rain shortened game, and a late run gave them a 3-2 victory. The game winning RBI came off the bat of Brian Boulineau in the top of the sixth. Matt Iantosca had an RBI and scored a run for the Rams, and Robert Meola picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief.
The Rams next face Morristown on Wed. April 9 at 4:00 p.m.
