RANDOLPH, NJ- Randolph boys basketball team secured their second win of the season in a home game against Delbarton on Saturday Jan 4. Andre Sciancalepore had a game high 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the Rams to a 58-50 victory.
It was a balanced effort for coach Matt Tighe’s team as 10 players showed up on the stat sheet. Among them were Michael Talbert who added 10 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds, Patrick Archer with 6 points and 6 rebounds, and Jeremy Simmons who helped on the boards with 6 rebounds.
The girls earned a resounding 50-26 victory over Central regional in the North – South Invitational in Secaucus on Saturday Jan. 4. Aliyah Huland El led the way with 27 points and 15 rebounds.
Randolph came out for the third quarter locked in a 16-16 tie, and ran away with the game in the second half. They dominated play in the third, outscoring Central 14-0 to take control of the game. A 20-10 fourth further padded that lead. Also contributing to the win were Cynthia Meringer who had 10 points, 4 assists, 3 steals and 3 rebounds, and Kiera Cesareo who had 8 points and 4 assists
