MORRISTOWN, NJ - On Saturday, March 16 th at 10 am, 466 runners participated in the 15 th Annual St. Paddy’s Day 5K in Morristown. In the men’s category, John Larkin (of Sparta), Benjamin Nilsestuen (of Brooklyn, NY), Trevor Emmitt (of Madison) won first, second, and third place with winning times of 17:39.54, 17:47.03, and 17:51.35 respectively. With winning times of 18:46.21, 19:43.71, and 20:53.69, Elena Rozhko (of Morristown), Adrianne Speranza (of Raritan), and Stacey Slaughter (of Pompton Lakes) were the first, second, and third winners for the women’s category.
Starting and ending at Ginty Field, this 3.15 mile run looped around Loantaka Brook Reservation. People of all ages came out dressed in green to run. Funds raised will go towards the 23 rd Annual Police Unity Tour, which raises awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty.
The 5K is part of a series of races done by Superhero Events. Other runs taking place this year include the Superhero Half Marathon (May 19 th ), the Halloween Half Marathon (Oct. 21 st ), and the Super Santa 10 Miler (Dec. 2 nd)
