Recycle Electronics, Get Car Washed at 'Clean & Green Extravaganza' at Lansdale Library Saturday

Electronics, appliance and metal recycling, document shredding, a car wash and a costume jewelry sale are just some of the things going on at Saturday's "Clean & Green Extravaganza" fundraiser at Lansdale Library from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"Come get your car washed, donate old clothes and old shoes, dispose of old medications, old electronics, anything with a plug. If you have a TV, you have to pay $10 to recycle it," said Councilwoman Mary Fuller at Wednesday's session.

Recycler 611 Metals will be at the event (probably in the Susquehanna and Derstine avenues parking lot, if approved by the Lansdale Parking Authority) taking "pretty much anything" for recycling: Computer equipment, refrigerators, bicycles and more.

There is a $10 charge for TVs.

Impact! Thrift Stores will be there collecting clothing and shoes.

Lansdale Police will be collecting prescription medications for its drug takeback program.

Something new this year—Friends of the Library will hold a costume jewelry sale.

Get some food in your tummy too—Lansdale Farmers' Market will be open during the hours of the Extravaganza, and it will have a special bake sale for the event.

QNB Bank and Wisler Pearlstine, LP are covering the cost of the shredding.

Donations are accepted at the event.
