Red Cross Issues Call for Volunteers, Orientation Set for Feb. 4

SUMMIT, NJ - The American Red Cross North Jersey Region is asking people to join the Red Cross by volunteering.

“Volunteers are essential to the Red Cross and to our ability to fulfill our humanitarian mission, and the Red Cross is always seeking volunteers with a diverse range of backgrounds, ages, talents and skills,” said Mathieu Nelessen, regional CEO, American Red Cross North Jersey Region.  “Our goal is for the Red Cross to be the premier place for volunteers to work.”

There are many ways someone can volunteer with the Red Cross in their community.  Volunteers assist victims of disasters such as house fires and floods, greet blood donors at blood drives, communicate information to members of the Armed Forces and their families, and help individuals and communities learn how to be better prepared for disasters.
