LIVINGSTON, NJ - Regal Bank donated $1,295 to the Livingston Education Foundation at the Town Council meeting on Monday night The money will be used to subscribe to an online funding research database that will give the District greater access to a wide variety of educational grants for students. The database is hosted by the Foundation Center Funding Information Network, in conjunction with Rutgers University-Newark. Membership will provide online access to over 20,000 U.S. foundations, 2.7 million recent grants, as well as online and classroom-based trainings in funding research, proposal writing, and nonprofit collaboration.
“As a comprehensive online non-profit funding research tool, the Directory has enormous potential in support of the LEF mission as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, to enhance educational excellence in the Livingston Public Schools through shared partnerships, strategic fund-raising, advocacy and building strong community,” said LEF President Heidi Cislo in a press release from the district.
The Foundation Center Funding Information Network is run in partnership with the School of Public Affairs and Administration, Rutgers University-Newark. Livingston’s Bonnie Granatir, Heidi Cislo and Marilyn Lehren have already attended trainings on the database at Rutgers and are eager to identify educational grant opportunities for Livingston.
“The LEF and LPS are grateful to Bonnie for introducing the Funding Information Network to the Livingston community,” said Manager, Communications and Community Outreach Lehren.
“I see the process of discovery and Regal Bank’s generous donation to LEF in partnership with LPS to subscribe to the directory as a foreshadowing of its potential for partnerships not only within the school community, but with other organizations and businesses for meeting the needs of our LPS students, our educators as well as the Township in general,” Cislo said.
