WESTFIELD, NJ — Get ready to burn off Thanksgiving dinner with Westfield’s Annual 5-Mile Turkey Trot and Practice Hard Mile, taking place Saturday, Nov. 30, at Tamaques Park.
“It's our 30th birthday. We expect a better-than-ever turnout and hope to exceed 1,500 participants this year,” said Tears Smith, event director for Sports A/R, the company organizing the run.
“The Westfield Turkey Trot has been a community tradition for 30 years now. We see many of the same local families joining us year after year, as well as brand-new first-time participants every year,” said Smith. “It’s always exciting to see the event grow, and we're always sure to grow with it. We've added more and more fun things with each passing Trot. This year, participants can expect 5-Mile Tech Tees and 1-Mile cotton tees, hot soup and bagels, face painting, bag check, a shot at the Wheel of Chance for every participant, B-Tag scoring for both distances, overall and age group awards for both runs, random giveaways, and a generally awesome day out.”
