MOUNT OLIVE, NJ - According to the latest updates, the rescue efforts in Mount Olive Township have now turned to recovery late tonight, and will be resumed in the morning.
Originally reported by News 12 New Jersey as five people (two adults and three children) missing, a 9-1-1 call at 6:30 p.m. to the township's police department, and later one person rescued, is now being reported as no rescues, and two teens missing.
The Alternative Press confirmed in its first article
on this situation, Byram and Stanhope Fire Departments, two Sussex County volunteer rescue organizations, assisted in tonight's rescue efforts.
The Alternative Press is awaiting a return call from the Mount Olive Township Police Department, and will provide details when available. The Mount Olive Police Department has also not updated its Facebook Page
over the last few hours, since it first reported emergency activity in the Sandshore Road area to alert the public.
