It’s hard not to notice how month after month new businesses are opening in South Plainfield and other businesses are expanding here. Just last week I saw how the Corner Bakery Café opened up on Hadley Road, and not long before that we learned that Biotech firm Genewiz had just completed a 11,000-square-foot expansion.
Just think about some of the other new names that have come to South Plainfield: Progressive Insurance opened a new corporate headquarters in town, as did Royal Coffee. Hobby Lobby chose South Plainfield for its first New Jersey site, and Dick’s Sporting Goods opened in Hadley Center. Compucra Systems, Enterprise Software Solutions, Wall Periodicals, and Doctors Express are just a few more examples of a growing South Plainfield.
I want to congratulate Mayor Matt Anesh and his economic development team (led by Councilman Alex Barletta up until this year and now led by Councilman Derryck White) for leading the charge to keep our community growing. Our mayor made it a priority to make South Plainfield business-friendly when he took office, and he’s been successful in keeping his promise.
Kudos to Mayor Anesh and his team.
