Boom, boom, boom, and, yes, even brighter than the July moon, this summer’s new DO AC 4th of July Fireworks spectacular, one of the Top 5 biggest fireworks shows in America, will certainly own the night on July 4th, as Atlantic City celebrates America’s Independence Day with a world-class pyrotechnic display scored to a soundtrack curated by “the people.”

The free fireworks show — a “Sky Concert™” featuring a selection of songs chosen by “the people” via a contest held by the Atlantic City Alliance on the DO AC Facebook page earlier this spring— will commence at 9:30 p.m. and include 10,000 fireworks shells and effects. In the final 30 seconds of this brand-new, first-of-its-kind fireworks show alone more than 1,000 shells will be fired.

Created by one of the country’s largest fireworks companies, Pyro Spectaculars by Souza and presented by the Atlantic City Alliance, the DO AC 4th Of July Fireworks will kick off the holiday weekend with a show so big that it will take two ocean barges and one marina platform to cover the island with a spectacular “Sky Concert™” for the senses. Souza, which produces and presents pyrotechnic displays and shows around the world including the Macy's 4th of July Spectacular in New York City, has created the show specifically for Atlantic City with Souza’s unique fireworks choreographed to the songs “the people” chose to be included in this first-ever “Sky Concert.”

With countless viewing areas throughout the city, spectators will set up along Atlantic City’s World Famous Boardwalk, at one of the many beach bar parties or viewing events, on the Steel Pier, in the Marina District, or at one of Atlantic City’s luxury casino resorts to take in this year’s stunning fireworks show.

Now in its third year producing Atlantic City’s July 4th fireworks, the Atlantic City Alliance (ACA) asked “the people” to choose the official soundtrack to the show. After tallying nearly 3,200 votes in select song categories, the results of the song contest wound up featuring an array of New Jersey artists, as well as the Blake Shelton — who plays a free beach concert in Atlantic City on July 31, followed by another free beach concert by Lady Antebellum on Aug. 3 — hit “God Gave Me You.”

Other voices that will be heard along with Shelton’s, star of NBC’s “The Voice,” all chosen by the people, include Ray Charles (“America The Beautiful”), Leann Rimes (“God Bless America”), the late Newark, N.J., native Whitney Houston (“The Star-Spangled Banner”), Pharrell (“Happy”), Bruce Springsteen (“Born in The USA”), Katy Perry (“Firework”) and Bon Jovi (“Livin' On A Prayer”).

Bally’s Atlantic City announced that it will add chef, restaurateur and Emmy Award winning TV Host, Guy Fieri to its growing roster of chef talent. The restaurant, which will overlook the beautiful beaches and Boardwalk of Atlantic City, is slated for an early Summer debut.

“Atlantic City truly has become a foodie destination and visitors can now add Bally’s to their dining ‘must do’ with the addition of Guy Fieri’s Chophouse at Bally’s,” said Kevin Ortzman, President - Caesars, Bally’s and Showboat Atlantic City.  “Guy’s contagious enthusiasm for his food and his fans, made this an important partnership for us at Bally’s and we cannot wait to welcome him back to Atlantic City this summer,” added Ortzman.

A unique twist on the classic steakhouse, the restaurant will feature a menu of popular signature dishes with New Jersey flare, such as the Java Rubbed Ribeye Chop, Filet with Roasted Garlic and Brown Butter, Spicy Bloody Mary Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Jersey Shore Clams Casino, Jersey Tomato Salad and Cape May Fried Flounder. A mash up of flavors and classic styles, Guy’s new restaurant will include a bevy of steak and seafood options inspired by a resort dining culture and Atlantic City overall.

Fieri's new concept promises 'simple with a twist,' not just a traditional steakhouse. The main bar, which spans the length of the entire restaurant, will include unique California sourced wines, a robust selection of craft beers on tap, and spirits from a small batch distillery. The restaurant decor will be reminiscent of Guy's style with stainless steel and brass accents.

Barenaked Ladies, will take the stage at Ovation Hall at Revel on Saturday, September 13 at 8pm.

On the occasion of the band's 25th anniversary, Barenaked Ladies -- Ed Robertson (guitar/vocals), Jim Creeggan (bass/vocals), Kevin Hearn (keyboard/guitar/vocals) and Tyler Stewart (drums/vocals) -- are celebrating with new album GRINNING STREAK. The album, the band's twelfth, is their first in partnership with Vanguard Records after self-releasing their last four efforts.

The album picks up steam via its hyper-hooky first single "Boomerang," produced by Gavin Brown, who handled 11 of GRINNING STREAK's 15 tracks. Another session with Toronto's Howie Beck yielded four album tracks: the buoyant "Who Knew," the wistful "Smile," the swirling "Off His Head" and the chugging "Best Damn Friend." Rounding out the sessions is a Mark Endert super-pop remix of "Boomerang."

Tickets are $60, $85 and $110 and go on sale June 6.  Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations, online at Ticketmaster.com and by calling 800-745-3000.
