Richard DeCastro Identified as Montclair Man Killed in Little Falls Crash

LITTLE FALLS, NJ - At approximately 3:18 a.m. on Tuesday, patrol officers were dispatched to Clove Road in Little Falls on report of a single-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers found a 2007 Hyundai had crashed into the retaining wall that is adjacent to the New Jersey Transit property.

The driver, who has been identified as Richard DeCastro, 53, of Montclair, was deceased upon arrival.  

Detective Sgt. James Briggs of Little Falls Police Department said, "A suicide note was located in the driver's wallet. Our investigation determined that the driver accelerated and crashed into the wall at approximately 70 mph."

The Little Falls Police Department has notified the family.
