Ridge 12U Baseball Team Wins NPGL Championship

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - The Ridge-Black 12U baseball team won the championship of the New Providence Green League with a 9-8 victory over Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Wednesday night.

Ridge-Black , representing Basking Ridge, extended a one-run lead to 9-5 with three runs in the top of the sixth inning. Ridge-Black, which was seeded fifth, reached the final round by defeating Westfield-White, 11-3, in the first round of the playoffs and Chatham, 11-8, in the semifinal round.

Ridge-Black, coached by Jonathan Sheh, finished with an 11-3 record in NPGL play.
