TOMS RIVER, NJ -- The Ridge girls winter track team came in third place out of 30 teams participating in the NJSIAA Group 4 state meet on Friday. The Red Devils' 25.5 team score was just 2.5 points away from meet winner Ridgewood (28 points) of Bergen County.

Sophomore Morgan Lyons won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.87, and she was third in the 400-meter dash with a :58.76.

In the 1600-meter run, junior Manon Stephen placed fourth at 5:08.43. She was also seventh in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:17.61.

The Ridge relay team came in fourth in the 4x400 with a time of 4:04.18. Junior Joy Osborne placed fifth in the high jump with a jump of 5-02.00. Her teammate, Jennifer Hodges, was eighth in the same event at 5-00.00.

Other participants included Olivia Cicchetti, who was 11th in both the 400-meter dash (1:00.24) and the 800-meter run (2:22.44); Tatum Peskin, who was 11th in the 1600-meter run (5:22.79); and Sarah Castronovo, who was 11th in the pole vault (9-06.00).

In the boys' state Group 4 meet, sophomore Luke Roberts was eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of :51.33; sophomore Will Pinto came in eighth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:28.27; junior Alex Petric was eighth in the pole vault with a throw of 13-06.00, an event in which teammate Kevin Korn had a throw of 12-06.00; and James Glockenmeier was 12th in the 3200-meter run in 9:53.22.
