BASKING RIDGE, NJ -- Two of the top five boys lacrosse teams in New Jersey, according to one statewide ranking, will meet on Saturday when Ridge puts its undefeated record on the line against Bergen County stalwart Ridgewood in a 6 p.m. game at Lee Field.

Ridge (8-0) has been stingy defensively all season, but in recent games the Red Devils' offense also has picked up considerably. Chris Crapanzano leads Ridge in goals with 17, Sean Everson has distributed a team-high 15 assists, and Jake Hoffman and Jack Turner each have scored 15 goals.

Connor Hackett has been rock solid in goal for Ridge, and he's benefited, as well, from the help he gets from the back line of Wes Hudkins, Daniel Comperiati and Cameron Yeager. Ridge is allowing only four goals per game, and only 3.2 goals per game in its last six contests.

Ridgewood's only loss is to Mountain Lakes, another undefeated team. Ridgewood is a program with a decades-old lacrosse tradition. The sport was a fixture there long before the trend caught on at many other schools around New Jersey.
