PARKLAND, FL- A Parkland educator has been nominated for Broward County Schools Gifted Teacher of the Year. Natale Lubinger, a 4th grade teacher at Riverglades Elementary, was nominated for the honor last week.

"It is an honor to be nominated with a group of educators who, like me, love what we do," said Lubinger.

"Mrs. Lubinger is a truly amazing teacher," shared a local Riverglades parent. "She makes the lessons so fun for the students and they learn a lot more- you can't imagine. She is so passionate, very positive and dependable. I feel so blessed to have her teach my daughter."

Lubinger has been teaching for 28 years, and the last 18 have been with gifted students. After teaching at Royal Palm, Sunshine, and Silver Lakes Elementary Schools, she has spent the last eight years at Riverglades in Parkland. She is a married mother of two girls, both of whom currently attend Riverglades.

In addition to teaching, Lubinger is a huge Disney fan, and she incorporates characters and motivation from Disney-inspired themes throughout the year into her curriculum.

"Mrs. Lubinger cares about her students," added another parent. "Even with the virtual learning she checks in with students and families to give them dedicated time and strategies for learning success."

Lubinger's favorite part of teaching is the kids themselves. "I love watching them learn and to help them become the best they can be," she adds. "Riverglades has been my home for the last eight years, and I am proud to be part of such an amazing staff!"
