Roadwork continues in Maplewood Village and on Sloan Street in the center of South Orange.
Paver construction will take place this Monday on Maplewood Avenue, commencing on the east side of Maplewood Avenue and Baker Street, township officials said in a news alert posted on the municipality's website.
Work will start at 7:30 a.m. and is expected to be finished by 5 p.m.
Traffic will flow in one direction on Maplewood Avenue from Baker Street to Highland Place. Parking will be restricted near Arturo's Osteria & Pizzeria.
The paver work is part of a $900,000 project the township is undergoing to improve the walkways in Maplewood Village and make them safer for pedestrians and people who frequent the businesses in the area.
In South Orange, Sloan Street will be milled and paved on Friday, starting at 7 p.m., according to South Orange Police Sgt. Adrian Acevedo.
The milling and paving will be done through the night and is expected to be completed by 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, Acevedo said in a traffic notice to residents.
During the time work is being done, Sloan Street will be closed from South Orange Avenue and around the circle. Other closures include Sloan Street to northbound traffic at Second Street and a portion of Municipal Lot No. 9.
