Robbers Strongarm 2 Minors in South Orange

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – Police are investigating a robbery involving multiple suspects.

Two minors reported that they were robbed by a group of six or seven black males while the two were standing on the corner of Valley Street and First Street at about 10:40 p.m. on April 12. The suspects, reported to be between 17 and 19 years old, stole a cell phone and a pair of sneakers from the victims. No weapon was involved in the incident.  Responding officers searched the area with no results.

In a separate incident, one person was arrested on chrages of indecent exposure.

Kevin Davy, 22, of South Orange, was arrested when police responded to reports of a black male exposing himself on the train station platform shortly after 5 p.m. on April 4. Davy was identified and arrested without incident.

In other police news:                           

  • Yusef McGaskiee, 32, of Newark, was arrested for trespassing when he was spotted on the back porch of a vacant Sinclair Terrace house at approximately 10 a.m. on April 13.
     
  • A Western Drive North resident told police that someone stole eight landscaped bushes from the front of his home sometime during the weekend of April 12.
