Robbery Victim Shot Early Friday Morning

PATERSON, NJ - Police are investigating the shooting of a man during a robbery attempt early Friday morning at the corner of Godwin Avenue and Rosa Parks Blvd.

According to police, at around 1:45 a.m. patrol units were dispatched to St. Joseph’s Medical Center on a report of a shooting victim arriving by private vehicle. The victim told police at the hospital that he was walking in the area of Godwin Avenue approaching Rosa Parks Blvd. when he was approached by two black males, one of them holding a gun. 

The two suspects demanded his money and personal belongings, at which point the victim began to yell for help and was shot by one of the suspects, who then ran east on Godwin Avenue approaching East 18th Street.
