Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dave Mason and his band will headline the Brotherhood Concerts event on Sunday, April 10th at 7pm at Temple B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills. Radio legend and rock historian Pete Fornatale is co-host of the all-request benefit concert that will feature many of Mason’s electrifying solo hits, including “Only You Know and I Know” and “Show Me Some Affection.”
Co-founder of the legendary band Traffic with Steve Winwood, Mason scored an early hit with his song “Feelin' Alright,” later covered by fellow British rocker Joe Cocker. Mason’s singular guitar work has earned him a distinguished career recording and performing with rock icons such as Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, and Michael Jackson. His solo recordings, which span more than three decades, include the classic Alone Together and four other gold albums, plus the top-10 single “We Just Disagree.” As a member of Fleetwood Mac, Mason is also featured on the 1995 studio album Time. His most recent recording, 26 Letters – 12 Notes, was released in 2008.
In an exclusive area appearance, award-winning broadcaster Fornatale will open the evening with highlights from his new book, Back to the Garden, a celebration of the music and spirit of Woodstock. Fornatale is a familiar voice in the New York area as host of Mixed Bag on WFUV radio and is also heard nationally on XM Sirius Satellite Radio. Fornatale will be available prior to the concert where autographed copies of his works can be purchased.
The Dave Mason Band will perform in the Sanctuary at TBJ. With state-of-the-art acoustics and no seat more than 40 feet from the stage, concertgoers will have the opportunity to experience the artistry and talent of one of rock’s great guitar players like never before.
