WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange Arts Council's exhibition at the West Orange Public Library is "Down in Front," by photographer George Kopp.
The opening event will be held at the West Orange Public Library, 46 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 24. The exhibition will run through April 29.
Kopp has photographed musicians all over the country. In an interview with The Alternative Press of West Orange, Kopp said that artists in the exhibition will include Elvis Costello, Allen Toussaint, Hubert Sumlin, Wanda Jackson, Bo Diddley, Wilco, Dr. John, Jeff Beck, Ronnie Spector, Al Green, Ian Hunter and many more.
"I’ve always been a fan of rock music and over the last half dozen years or so have been able to photograph some of my heroes. Many of my favorites are included here," said Kopp.
As a professional photographer for many years my work has been featured in the New York Times, Elmore Magazine, Weird NJ, Drum Magazine, The Newark Star-Ledger’s Destination NJ Book, as well as many web sites, corporate brochures and advertisements," he continued.
"Thanks to Elmore Magazine and thewaster.com for their support and to all the festivals and venues who have allowed me to photograph the musicians. And thanks to the performers themselves for all the great music and good times!"
