SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Even Mary Poppins would love this red Fender electric guitar that is being raffled off by the Appleby School Drama Club. Raffle tickets are $10 with the proceeds going towards Ryan Brolliar's Music is Medicine Tour. In January, Appleby Drama Club director and Helmetta Mayor Chris Slavicek launched a 'give back' campaign.

The endeavor was inspired by Slavicek's recent experience with Brolliar's Music is Medicine tour. Brolliar's tour stopped at Chelsea Senior Living in East Brunswick earlier this year where Slavicek is the vice president of sales and marketing. The experience left Slavicek inspired. The longtime Helmetta resident launched a 'give back' initiative aimed at teaching the students involved in the Appleby School Drama Club's spring production of "Mary Poppins Jr." about the joys and satisfaction of giving to others. Raffling the Fender guitar is a part of the effort with the proceeds from the raffle going to help fund Brolliar's tour.

Brolliar's Music is Medicine tour is striving to bring the power of music to hospitals, clinics, shelters, senior centers and more in all 50 states. So far, Brolliar has reached more than 25 states including New Jersey. The former teacher's journey has garnered national attention and was featured on CBS News.
