Lea G. Rodriguez, RN-BS, has been appointed Vice President of Patient Care Services for Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. The former Assistant Vice President of Emergency Services assumed her new role in June. As Vice President of Patient Care Services, Rodriguez is responsible for the leadership of all nursing and patient care services at Clara Maass Medical Center. She will provide guidance in the development and implementation of patient care policies, programs and practices, as well as nursing practice and performance.

"Lea brings her great leadership in addition to clinical and operational expertise to this new role, as well as a direct understanding of Clara Maass Medical Center," said Mary Ellen Clyne, Executive Director, Clara Maass Medical Center. "I am confident that she will continue to ensure that our patient care and nursing services remain at the highest level."

Rodriguez joined the Clara Maass Medical Center Medical staff in 2001, as a Nurse Manager on the Telemetry Unit. She has held a various roles throughout her career at Clara Maass, including those of Director of Critical Care and Hemodialysis, Director of Patient Care Finance, and Director of Emergency Services, Behavioral Health and Infection Control. In 2008, Rodriguez was named Assistant Vice President of the Emergency Department while also overseeing Medical/Surgical, Maternal Child Health, Behavioral Health and Pediatrics, as well as Nursing Finance.

Prior to CMMC, Rodriguez served as Nurse Manager of Telemetry at The General Hospital Center at Passaic, Passaic, NJ.

Rodriguez holds a B.S. in Public Health Administration from Rutgers University, Cook College, an Associate's Degree in Nursing and Applied Sciences from Felician College, and is currently enrolled in the Master's of Science in Administration Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
