More than 15 fire and emergency personnel battled a house fire—and the severe thunderstorms—on the 100 block of Raven Hollow Drive in Montgomery Township Wednesday night.
According to PhillyFireNews, the fire call came in at 7:19 p.m., with Fire Department of Montgomery Township arriving first to the scene.
Heavy fire and smoke was showing from a two-story home, per reports. Firefighters attempted to extinguish the flames from inside the home, but retreated due to heavy fire conditions, per PhillyFireNews. Fire Department of Montgomery Township Chief Bill Wiegman told reporters that the severe weather also played a factor in the decision to battle the blaze from the exterior.
Wiegman told press that the roof is gone and the second floor is extremely damaged. The first floor remained intact, but with severe water damage.
6abc reported one firefighter suffered minor facial injuries in the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the township fire marshal.
